totally agree with your choice....nice band and best album.

They does a very singular kind of music and very technical and emotional same time
I can't say just one, but I think the 10 most listened albums of this decade were these:
Draconian - Where Lovers Mourn (2003)
Paradise Lost - In Requiem (2007)
Agathodaimon - Chapter III (2001)
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance (2006)
Moonlight - Floe (2000)
Tristania - Ashes (2005)
Anathema - A Fine Day to Exit (2001)
Therion - Lemuria - Sirius B (2004)
Orphaned Land - Mabool (2004)
Gamma Ray - No World Order (2001)
When I listen to them, it's "spam mode:ON"
Definitely Infernal Wars 2007 lp: Resedektration .... and their 2009 EP Conflagrator. Good god, that is some blasphemous, ferocious stuff. The vocalist's hate and scorn is just so palpable. It's amazing. Some may say it's norsecore, and sounds alot like Marduk on the 2007 lp, but I believe the 2009 EP was them realizing their fullest potential (and not sounding like Marduk guitar wise). They just get it. If you haven't heard Infernal War, please wear a diaper and a neckbrace because more than likely you will shit your self and go into extreme bouts of headbanging!! Also, the nile album 2009 Those Whom the Gods Detest. God I love Nile and the way they craft their riffs. Death metal masterpiece. It's a shame the last album they came out with had horrible production, it should have sounded more like TWTGD but oh well, its not my band or decision.
Many, many albums come to mind, but the one that suprised me the most was Disillusion "Back to Times of Splendor". Very aggresive/Heavy, while at the same time being very proggresive/Opeth inspired.
adagio - archangels in black , the best
