These are not so new bands!

Slayingripper: when you say "im looking for something new" you mean something new FOR YOU or something new IN GENERAL? and, in general, when we are talking about power metal, it's difficult to find something that can be really completely new...... there are several contaminations, but the main charteritics of this kind of music are almost always the same........

Savatage were so legendary! Edge Of Thorns has some of the greatest metal songs every written on it! Def. in my top 10 albums of all time.

Also, I second Savatage. Holy fuck Savatage are good. Also, Jon Oliva's Pain/Oliva and Doctor Butcher are worth a listen if you like Jon Oliva fronted Savatage.

If your into more fantasy inspired power metal, I'd totally recommend Evertale. Their amazing!!!!! Very Blind Guardian inspired, and their only album is completely based of the Dragonlance chronicles trilogy!

Another great band I've been getting into recently is Sinbreed. Their pretty awesome, and some of the members of Blind Guardian are in it, it's more strait forward power metal.
