When you buy them in a supermarket, usually you will find them wrapped with a thin rope, that it's not edible but very easy to remove...... when you make it at your home (I have an old auntie that is a wizard in cooking things like that
) it's easier to "close" them using little wooden sticks / toothpicks...... and, again, it's better to remove them before eating
Haha there are something like that with toothpicks. Sadly outer side is eggplant
but inside is full meat.
Usually served with rice.
Omg that looks like bacon!

I say that the only thing that is important it to eat...... it doesn't matter to know EXACTLY what you are eating...... if it's good for your eyes, it will also be good for your mouth
I think that the use of this of that ingredient is something that has its roots in the ancient tradition of a single land...... here in Italy we've seen to pass the domination of a lot of different foreign populations...... so, maybe, also in the food, we've taken the best from each one......

Here in Italy we say "anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte" that means something like "even the eye wants its part", as I've said, something must be good both for the eyes and for the mouth...... and this is a rule not only for the food...... for the women, for example...... if there's a girl that is sweet, kind, polite, nice, funny...... but, in the end, is ugly like shit
well...... you understand what I mean...... even the eye wants its part......

And what about your Turkish kitchen huh?
You people know how to make some damn good food!
Here in Holland we have more Turkish and Italian restaurants than Dutch ones and only for 1 simple reason... you make better food then us
Whahahaha
I think the first one is mushroom soup with tosti, i hate mushrooms so not sure bout that one. Though i do like a cup of soup with bread to it.
The second one on the other hand is one of my favorite Dutch winterfoods named, boerenkool met worst! that is so good...
The third one we eat decembre 31 for newyears ceberation, oliebollen, good if ya don't eat too many of them.
The bottles i think is genever... don't like that stuff. Old peoples booze.
Last one... patatje oorlog met een kroket... fat and good
