it's FEGATO ALLA VENEZIANA = veal liver cooked in the Venice way, and I've posted it for our italian friend Elenissima54, that is from Venice...... it's actually liver of veal stewed with a lot of garlic, olive oil and white wine...... as in the picture is served with POLENTA (the yellow stuff), that is a mixture of water and corn flour, cooked a long and slowly until it become a dense and thick "cream"...... like in this picture



well...... believe me...... to say the less, it's good as hell

Hmmmmm... a lot of garlic... i eat with a lot of meals garlic.
One of the best spices there is.

ok...... this one is very simple but, for me it's a kind of ritual...... it reminds me those first days when I was 21 years old and I went to live by myself...... at that time I was able to cook a very few kind of foods and all simple and very easy to cook food...... so, this one was for me the easier to do......



PANE CON FRITTATA E FORMAGGIO = bread, cheese and omelette...... nothing else...... it's not only food for me...... it's a symbol of freedom, something thaT reminds to me how is good to be able to do everything counting only on our own forces, starting from the lower step, and reachig everything with our iron will even today I've had it for lunch...... and guys...... it tastes of victory

Man... when i was 20 and went to live on my own i was only eating porkchops, bacon, ham, chickenwings... MEAT! Meat, beans and eggs.
How sweet it was to have my own place where i could smoke pot the whole day and do whatever else i wanted in live. That was an amazing time.

here in Italy there is not so much people that can understand this way of thinking...... nowadays the young remain at home with their parents a lot after 30s and even after 40s...... I can't understand this way of living...... there are steps that a person have to do at a certain point of his life...... to grow up, from the childhood to the adult ages...... at a certain point you have to stop of messing around on the shoulders of your parents......

And of course i had to burn my fucking fingers putting a pizza to the oven...

Wow mate your pizza looks amazing! Sorry for your fingers but no pain no gain right?

Well, at least i didn't burn my tongue for a change

Thanks tears_of_fire, but honestly (and unfortunately) I don't like fegato and polenta

But I go crazy for other typical dishes from Veneto, like risotto alla trevigiana



The risotto is prepared with Treviso radicchio, cut into thin strips that will be added to a fried oil and onion.


And also pasta e fasioli (fagioli) = Pasta and beans



The picture doesn't do it justice
It's delicious


And finally I love bacalà mantecato (I think that it can be translated like codfish mantecato)

Don't you like FEGATO ALLA VENEZIANA ?!? you don't know what you're losing but don't be sad, my dear...... no problem, I'll make it my duty to eat it and the other stuff (RISOTTO, PASTA E FAGIOLI e BACALA') are also very good "piatti della tradizione veneta"
