Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
Judas Priest - British Steel / Defenders of The Faith / Screaming for Vengeance
Dio - Holy Diver / The last in line
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break The Oath
Metallica - Master of Puppets / Ride the Lightning / And Justice / Kill em All

The 80's were the golden years of Metal. Very good stuff, 83, 84, 86. In my opinion, Black Sabbath (1970) started it all.

Great lists guys! Grin
And as Raphael Nervo says, Black Sabbath started it all - the inventors of Heavy metal! Gods!

I remember the cassette tapes Weedom, nostalgic as you say! I Dont have any of them left though...Cray

Creds to tears_of_fire, Seventh son of a Seventh son as no. 1 is a great choice! That would have been my number 4 of best albums. Saw Maiden on that tour, fantastic! Yahoo

THANX MY FRIEND! Grin

To say the truth, my list is a "random" list, not in order of importance...... Blush2 they are all basic heavy metal albums, for the history of heavy metal and for my personal history, and for me it would be impossible to tell which one is the best...... and, in the end, it's surely an incomplete list...... I'm getting older and the memory doesn't help me anymore, but there should be a lot of more albums to add to this list...... Laugh1

I completely agree! Yes3

BLACK SABBATH first albums gave birth to what became the more obscure and raw aspects of metal, DEEP PURPLE/RAINBOW to the more tecnical and musically complex aspects, URIAH HEEP to the more epic and fantasy aspects...... and what's the common feature of these (and many other classic) bands?? something usually known as BLUES...... something every headbanger should never forget!
