RE: BEER!
We've had a huge beer revival in America over the past several years. A lot of what I drink is from local breweries. I'm a huge fan of wheat beers, and a brewery near me has a citrus honey wheat beer that I really like.
Some of our larger breweries may sell internationally, but I'm not sure. Of the ones that are big enough that they might:
Dogfish head makes Chateau Jiahu. It's an ancient ale (they hired an archaeologist to discover ancient beer recipes) from China, with honey, fruits, and barley.
New Holland makes Dragon's Milk. It's a bourbon barrel stout, and it tastes amazing. I haven't had much of their other beers, because I'm generally too busy drinking this one!
Oskar Blues makes Old Chub. It's a scotch ale. Nothing too fancy, just a good solid beer at a decent price.
We also have Spencer Trappist ale, which is so far our only approved trappist ale in the US. I've yet to have it, but I've heard great things about it from some of our more local trappists.

From these, I would recommend only the tuborg special (red). I guess I like beer with high ABV.
Kvass looks cool, if I can find one here from the export places I'll try it!
Hahaha I tried some beer in Turkey: Efes Dark for taste and Efes Xtra for tipsiness/best value. xD
I prefer stouts, haven't really found many in the states (guess I'm not looking hard enough?) Guinness is great through, smooth and delicious.
Also tried Dragon's Milk: terrible taste. Yuck... maybe it went bad before I bought it?
Sampled New Belgium IPAs and others, but that was more of a phase for me. Can't really stand them anymore. =D
Guess I have a sensitive palate...
