thx
great
From the way-back machine; old black metal from Sweden !!
I've decided everything good can be had by keeping the 2011 double CD, No Compromize, so that's the only one I would be referring to here if I write anything: ...
Well, to begin with, I like the vocal style, as it's (now anyway) much like that of our old favorite fire-breathing madman who never dies. The sound in general is slightly (I'll use the word) muffled, but not in a bad way as from a shitty recording -- it may just be how it is, given the technology of that era, wax cylinders and all. I really enjoy this sound, because there is little or no high-end distortion to rattle the eardrums -- like the treble is turned down, and nicely, or even maybe like an LP often sounds. The warm solid bass, and the percussion in general, is fine, usually pleasantly heavy --- however, note that there's a bit of a mix of song styles here, including some covers and weird tunes (so musical style changes), and much of this was first recorded in the 90's ... With no new / other material from this group to compare with, it's difficult to say objectively whether they're any good, so it's up to us -- and up to us to wonder what the artist(s) might sound like today, were they together.
Love Me Tender? No
way! ... But Red Hot never sounded so good.
My opinion: this Vondur is Good! Enjoying very much, both sound-wise, and musically. I'll hear it all again before journeying to the stars, as it were. Thanks, sanko_lesnik, for sharing this cool assortment from the past.
