RE: Freeleech, New rating system and profile update
I must admit, it a little funky since it changed so drastically. It was easier back then to boost your reputation and reaching some level where you can "be proud" of yourself.
The calculations is really “strict” (if I can use that word) ... In a matter that it “forces” you to participate in the metal community. (I think that pretty much covers it, right?)
In all sense, it is not a bad transformation, nothing wrong with the new look and calculations but it is really harder now to reach a new level, it would mean you need to download and upload and seed as much as possible to reach the next step of the metal tracker ladder.
Not for me to judge. Some folks like it and others not, a matter of preferences and needs, I suppose.

RE: Freeleech, New rating system and profile update
This is hard to get behind. I'm not one to be super active on any online forum, especially one where Russian is the main language. I'm pretty sure we don't want the forums to be run over with people like me who'd put their English into an online translator, get it into a bad form of Russian and post that. So, that alienates I would imagine, a large population of users right off the bat.
The each uploaded GB part is OK, assuming people download from you. Right now I have 20 active torrents being uploaded, and all of them are idle. The largest one seems to have a few MB of upload completed. So, I won't benefit from the upload credit much.
I don't add new releases, as I don't sit on my computer all day and relatively have nothing to offer that isn't already on here. I could upload duplicates though (<- sarcasm).
Regularly visit the site... cool, I get a whooping 10 points once a month. That means in a few centuries I'll rank up.
It seems that admins are attempting to force a full community. That's all fine and dandy. It's too bad that English only speakers are alienated not only from participating, but a 2nd time by keeping user rank very low. Of all the private trackers that I am part of, this is the only one that operates in such a function. I'll just keep using it as I do, to grab what torrents I can't find else where, as the more I think on this, the more that I feel like I'm not entirely welcome here. I don't feel compelled - at all - to become more part of a "community" that doesn't accept English only users. I don't feel compelled to do anything beyond download and seed my downloads. If my rank or ratio gets so low that I can no longer use this tracker, well, there's plenty others out there I can use as well, where I'd feel more welcome. If I get banned or whatever for this line of thought, again, oh well.

Very good post. I come to this site everyday and have a ratio of 24, but like you just leave seeds running without upoloadinmg new releases. Will see how this system develops. THere are other sites out there but I love the metal content on this site.

Couldn't agree more, perfect post. I too do not stick to my computer for 24 hours, however, I seed as long as someone is interesting in it - You know, I don't have infinite space on my laptop, nor a private power plant to support it. For other details, see my ratio between download and upload.
I don't speak russian, nor do I intend to learn it in near future, so I don't participate on forums or give any comments.
As opening a torrent doesn't remember where I was on the torrents page, and throws me back at the very beginning, which makes me need to search where I was, I just don't open the, consequently also not giving thanks OR respects, I only download them. Also, could You please make a mark "New torrents from last visit" and "Clear this mark" or is it not according to Your interests?
At the begining, I found this page very nice and really concentrated on metal music, I have even found some things that could't be found elsewhere in one place. Now, with these changes, I feel rejected and will need to go somewhere else. I agree with You to protect the page from clones and other abuses, however, I'm afraid You took the wrong path.
The whole thing stinks to the point "We do with our page what we want, if You don'tlike it, scram, we don't need you anyway." Please, don't understand me wrong - if You wish, You can ban me, no bad feelings, however, this changes are, at least for me and it seems I'm not the lonely voice in the vast void, user hostile, not only user unfriendly.
Last but not least, about the commercialisation: true, You need to cover the expences, power, server, Your work, etc. However, bear in mind, metal is not only music, it's a philosophy and a way of living, and this can not be for sale, unless You sell out.

Why does it matter your rank as long as you do not have a 30 second or 60 second delay in downloading? I just don't see why it matters if you are a great metalhead or just a user as to what it matters. Just enjoy the downloads.

To have 0 delay, you have to reach rank of User, which is 2001 points or more. In order to get this rank, you need to...
1) Seed 400GB
2) Upload + Seed 200 new releases
3) Get 2000 "Thanks"
4) Get 80 "+" on the forums
5) Visit each month for 201 months (about 16 years)
So far, I've seeded every download I've done, and have a total upload of about 2GB after roughly one month (5 weeks, but we'll round down).
I don't have anything to contribute currently, and don't really make it a point to downlost much from torrents (I buy the vast majority of my music). I've checked my entire library and I have nothing to add. SO option 2 doesn't get me very far.
Option 3, again, not really an option since I don't speak Russian... and would rather not embarras myself with a poor translation from say, google.
Option 4, same thing as option 3.
Between option 1 and option 5, my most viable options, we can extrapolate that it'll take roughly 100 months - 8.3 years - to rank up where I have zero delay, at current rates. Assuming I continue to use the tracker and download things, we can assume that the upload portion may increase quite a bit, but I can't see it increasing enough to even bring the rank User within my grasp to a year or less. Not unless I download simply for the sake of downloading.
I have about 200 "points" now. So I'm a "visitor" according to this site. If I'm extremely lucky, I'll be a "newbie" within the next year or so, give or take a few months.
Again, it's obvious that admins are forcing a community. I don't mind that at all. It's their site, they are free to do whatever the heck they want. I'm just pointing out how things feel from my position as an English-only speaker with very little to offer than awesome seed times (I average 2:1 ratio on other trackers, and have average seed times of many months) once I do download something.
As it stands, I'll at least be a visitor, which seems for now I'll still be able to download, so this doesn't really negativly effect me. Sure, I have a 60 second delay between downloads... that's fine, I can be patient. It also means though that this tracker will likely not be my "go to" tracker if I find a hole in my collection that I need to fill quickly, as I am a member of other trackers where I can generally find what I need, without delay.
