Solid, thick, and gloomy. With a steady, heavy drum track. And vocals of a growly-hoarse configuration.
The recording method seems to be responsible for the warm, thudding sound in general, like it's been put through a few tube amps along the way to warm it up and smooth it out, and has chopped the annoying treble off the top. Nice on the ears.
