Black metal, from America.
Not bad.
Thick, heavy black metal, with atmosphere and a dose of melodic thrown in. I haven't much enjoyed American black metal in general, but this album is fine; I like it quite a bit, and would probably enjoy another from this group. Guitar is mainly classic style for black metal, but the track construction and percussion are slightly different from classic, giving a different feeling here. Chords are often sinister and creepy, but there's also a lively, even cheerful feeling too; particulatly in track #3 for example, which has an upbeat tempo, and I believe some synth has been added in the background, not strongly, but to fill in the atmosphere. I don't find the music especially 'atmospheric' but by some measures, sure, it can be. If I can call Akloleh atmospheric, then this can be too. But it's a bit energetic, in general, for typical 'atmospheric'. You be the judge - give it a try.
I like it! Thank you for your efforts to share this, Ihomiuvel.
IMO the pinnacle of American black metal is Panopticon by Austin Lunn, it combines seamlessly elements of American folk with beautiful passages of melody that evoque a sense of nostalgia and introspection all along some incredible original blast beats, it can be aid that some of Austin's songs, the atmosphere is entirely derived of the drumming which can only be listened to be nderstood.
Thanks
