Norwegian black metal, continued.. 

It's fine, nice music. I like it well. Not entirely explicitly "black metal" as such, by comparison; it's a slight sideways evolution from the earlier two albums. Neither better nor worse, just... new, maybe. It's good! In here, although the lead vocalist still sounds to me like the Carcass guy at times, there's also some dual vocals, some clean sections, and a tiny bit of sampling. When it's full-on, the guitar & percussion are intense & fast, sinewy and pounding respectively. The slower sections might variously be described as creepy, dischordant, doomy, deathy, chuggy, and / or even strange. Sound quality & production are both good.

You may like it, or love it. But, I don't think you'll hate it if you enjoyed earlier Svart Lotus.
